Top price at Friday’s sale of Jacobs at Worcester was a 700gns call for a shearling ram from Clive Richardson’s Border flock. This one had been placed fifth in the pre-sale show and sold to join R and L Wilson at Aspatria. Cumbria.

Then at 600gns was J G Strong’s shearling tup Elmley Beefy, an Elmley Dakota son which sold to M Brown, Horncastle.

At 580gns was the reserve male champion from the pre-sale show Dalewood Regent from D J and M M Biggs’ Dalewood flock. He went to Kate Pullan. and selling at 520gns was the pre-sale champion, Dun-more Viagra from G Connor and S Dalrymple. This shearling was bought by A Simpson, Whitedale.

In the females the best price was a 510gns sale for R F Price’s shearling ewe which sold to N and J Heaven, Hasfield. And then at 450gns was another shearling, this time from G, J d and C L Philiips’ Highfield flock. This was bought by Kate Pullan. Top in the ewe lambs on offer was a 450gns call for one from the Prices.

Averages; nine breeding ewes £124.83, 33  shearling ewes £178.34, 37 ewe lambs £138.86, 13   rams £355.79, 21 ram lambs £207.56 (McCartneys).
