Worcester Texel sale secures 900gns top

Saturday’s Christmas Present sale of Texel females on behalf of the Gloucester and Border Counties Texel Club saw trade peak at 900gns for a shearling ewe from the Peacehay flock of Messrs Chave, Somerset.

This one, CFP1000129, a Fachell Outlook daughter out of a dam by Lyonshall King of Clubs, was carrying twins to Castlecairn Phoenix and was knocked down to C R Amphlett, Craven Arms.

Next best was a 500gns call for one from the Quick family’s Loosebeare flock, with this being a Glenside Nosey Parker daughter, QEL100535. She is out of a dam by Loosebeare Knight Rider and sold carrying twins to Tullochallum Perky. She went home with B L Thomas, Leominster.

Another from the Chaves then sold at 480gns, with this being another Fachell Outlook daughter, CFP1000206. Out of a dam by Lyonshall King of Clubs she sold in lamb to Scolton Panther and was bought by D McAuliffe, Kilkhampton, Devon.

The Barnage flock of Messrs Martyn and Son, took a call of 410gns for gimmer in lamb to Ettrick Super Scot. She sold to P and L Phillips, Kimbolton, Leominster.
