The dispersal of Les and Catherine Cussons’ Yedmandale herd of Holsteins at York Livestock Centre saw buyers from as far afield as Cumbria, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and South West Scotland.
Top call on the day was 2000gns for Yedmandale Picshot June, a third calver by Picston Shottle giving 46kg a day. She was one of 35 cows purchased by Fred Simcock for his herd at Ledbury, Herefordshire.
At 1800gns D Lumley and Sons, Crakehall, Bedale, took a second calver by Moet Nansen and at the same money R W Wood and Co, Stillington, purchased Yedmandale Jordan Olivia, giving more than 50 kg in her third lactation.
Ronald Wilson, Castle Douglas, was in keen form for autumn calving heifers, taking 12 home including four at 1750gs.
