Zwartbles see strong trade at Worcester

Worcester again played witness to the annual Zwartbles Sheep Association sale where trade was strong, with a top price of 1140gns.

 

The top spot was taken by the pre-sale show reserve female champion from Mrs Vick Grinnall’s Beech Hay flock.

 

This ewe lamb sold to a partnership of Mr Mathew Simpson and Mr John Shephard, Scotland after some stiff bidding.

 

Ms Grinnall’s pen also went on to make 570gns for a ewe lamb selling to Mr Heigh, Lancaster.

 

Top of the males was a strong ram lamb from Miss Poppy Godwin, sired by a Beech Hay bred ram. This lengthy ram also sold for 570gns to Mr V Manning.

 

Ms Grinnall also received 400gns and 450gns for two other ewe lambs.

 

The best price in the shearling females was made by Mr Short’s champion female which sold for 380gns.

 

A shearling ram from Mr and Mrs Caunter, Cornwall then went on to sell for 220gns.
