3- and 4-furrow Cayros joins Amazone plough range

Familiar ploughs in new colours will be evident on the Amazone stand at the Lamma show following the German manufacturer’s acquisition of the Vogel & Noot plough range and manufacturing resources.

The Cayros family complements the existing Cayron ploughs Amazone developed from scratch, and comprise the M series three- to four-furrow ploughs for tractors up to 120hp; the heavier-duty XM, XMS and XS ranges for tractors of up to 140hp, 200hp and 260hp; and the XS Pro for up to 380hp tractors.

An Amazone ploughInterbody clearances on the range-topping model are up to 105cm with up to 90cm clearance beneath 200x150x10mm beam, which rotated on a 120mm turnover shaft.

Optional equipment across the Cayros family includes hydraulic instead of mechanical furrow width adjustment; stone protection with mechanical, semi-auto coil spring or fully auto hydraulic systems; and five different mouldboard shapes, including a slatted mouldboard.

Heat treatment for the mouldboards using the company’s hardening process is said to result in a prolonged service life, high impact strength and reduced draft resulting in lower fuel consumption.
