Weaving Machinery had a full-size 9m version of the amazing Australian Kelly multipurpose harrow at Cereals 2011.

The cultivation is done by a series of flexible steel discs attached to each other by heavy-duty hooks.

They move through the soil at a depth of 2-5cm and at 45deg to the direction of travel.

They are also capable of working at high speed, chopping crop residue and providing an ideal stale seedbed.

Though the machine is relatively expensive at £49,000, the discs are said to be very hard wearing and the maker offers a 5-year warranty on all wearing parts.
