Looking much like a giant, complex rat-trap, this is the latest development from Aberdeenshire-based BIBBB equipment.

Designed for moving batches of ewes and young lambs about, it comprises three fold-out gates that form a catching/release pen plus five weld-mesh crates with a checkerplate floor for individual sheep.

The front part of each of these is separated off with a hinged gate to carry the lambs belonging to that particular ewe. Like the company’s cattle Catcher Crate, it is designed for use on a fore-end loader or handler.

When it is dropped off, individual gates at the head of each pen allow single animals to be released, one by one. Price for a fully galvanised unit fitted with pallet-fork slides is £1,450.
