French drill maker Carre isn’t familiar to many UK farmers, but it apparently more than holds its own in the home market against some of the powerful euro brands.
Importer Willow Farm Machinery showed the firm’s Pentasem unit, which uses a five-coulter system with a straight-leg spring tine coulter and full RDS-monitored rate system as standard.
The drill comes in 3-6m widths and other features include a mechanical float system and external distribution head.
The 4.8m version on show at LAMMA is likely to be the most popular one, says WFM’s Sean Stanfield, and starts at £17,850.
