In a bid to offer an Optum for every need, Case-IH has launched a baby model to join the two existing options – a 270hp machine and the flagship 300hp tractor.
It’s not a huge surprise then that the new smaller 250hp model sticks with the same 6.7-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine as the two bigger brothers, made by CNHi’s sister company, Fiat Powertrains Technologies (FPT).
The block is stage IV emissions compliant and boosts to a max of 273hp. The Optum also features some handy fuel-saving technology such as dropping the engine revs to 650rpm when the tractor sits idle for longer than two minutes, claims the firm.
It is available as standard with Case’s CVX transmission, which is seen on the two other models in the range.
Prices for the 250hp unit start at £170,067.
