Case IH CVX timescale announced

Case IH’s additions to the Puma tractor range, the 210 and 225 CVX, will go on sale in the UK in late spring 2009 and will have their first UK outing at Lamma next month.

Introduced to fill the gap between the existing CVX models and their Magnum counterparts, the new models use second-generation CVT and are an upgrade of the current CVX models built at the St Valentin HQ in Austria.

The new transmission has four mechanical helical gears, which means 100% mechanical power is now available at four points between 0kph and 50kph, says Case. And instead of using a series of double clutches, only one wet double clutch shifts the whole gear range, resulting in fewer driveline losses throughout.

Both models can hit 50kph at a fuel-sipping 1550rpm, and the pto can run at either 540 or 1000rpm at 1900 engine rpm. The new range also features a multi-controller armrest.

Two new smaller models in the CVX range are also expected to go on show at theSIMA show in Paris in February.
