Lamma 2016: Caterpillar loader offers more power

Cat-926M-Ag-Handler-01a

Driver-selected power management settings on the Caterpillar 926M Ag Handler being introduced by Finning (Stand B16) are tuned to suit the particular demands of silage ensiling and other farm operations.

It is one of three new wheeled loaders powered by Cat C7.1 Acert engines, with maximum power for the 926M peaking at 164hp from a nominal 153hp gross output.

The loader has a four-range hydrostatic transmission with Cat’s Power-By-Range technology providing increased power in the top and bottom ranges for improved road performance and silage work.

The power balance in range one is designed to ensure the machine keeps moving up a silage clamp with plenty of hydraulic power to layer in the silage as it is rolled. In other ranges, revs and power can be held in check to reduce fuel consumption.
