Cereals 2010: Unimog gets a showing

Mercedes Benz specialist South Cave Tractors was showing off a new forward control version of the latest Unimog.

Finished just hours before the show in classic MB-Trac two-tone green livery, the S-Trac has a Euro 5 AdBlue engine and 16-speed mechanical, electric-shift gearbox.

With its cab mounted forward of the front axle, the 5000-litre Landquip spray-pack can be positioned in the dead-centre of the machine, making for optimal weight distribution, according to the firm.

Bigger wheels can now be accommodated to give 900mm ground clearance. The basic stripped down machine (without spray-pack) costs between £118,000 and £155,000.
