Claydon extendeds range of straw harrows

Claydon has extended its range of straw harrows with the introduction of a 15m version – double the size of the existing model.

It is designed to stir just the top 2.5cm (or less) of soil to encourage weed and volunteer chitting, as well as exposing slug eggs.

The new 15m straw harrow needs a minimum of 200hp to operate and can be worked at speeds of up to 20kph to give an output of more than 160ha a day.

It runs on four hydraulically adjusted depth wheels and the angle of the tines can be altered to provide a more aggressive action. GPS-controlled tractor Autosteer is recommended to reduce overlap.
