The Vanish electric 4×4 utility vehicle from ePower Trucks is the third make to aim at the utility market, following the launch of electric vehicles from Polaris and Avid Vehicles.
It claims to be the UK’s only all-electric 4×4 that can be driven on the road as well as off it.
The Vanish is capable of 50 miles on a single charge and a top speed of 25mph. It comes with multi-speed forward and reverse speed transmission, can tow up to 682kg and carry two people plus a 227kg payload. It costs from 3p per mile to run in electricity, says the maker, depending on driving conditions – a fraction of the fuel costs for a diesel-powered UTV.
It has a sealed battery that keeps on working even when the vehicle is fully submersed in water. Prices start at £10,995 on the road, excluding VAT.
