Assured growers visiting Red Tractor Farm Assurance at Cereals will be able to pick up a free Red Tractor rain gauge and a pack of information on how to better manage their mycotoxin risk.

Supported by HGCA, Red Tractor Farm Assurance has 2500 rain gauges to give away on HGCA’s stand 305 at the event.

The Red Tractor stand will also have examples of cereal-based products bearing the Red Tractor logo.

Growers will also have the opportunity to meet members of the Red Tractor team and discuss the current standards and the use of the Red Tractor logo on cereal-based products.

Matthew Read, chairman of Red Tractor Farm Assurance Crops scheme, said: “Accurate measurement of rainfall is important for good crop management all year round – not just during the critical flowering and harvest period.

“Not everyone has instant access to web-based weather data, so providing a simple piece of equipment like a rain gauge will help our grower members to better manage their crop.”

Also included in the pack is HGCA topic sheet Managing Mycotoxin Fusarium Risk in Wheat and Guidelines on Managing the Risk of Fusarium Mycotoxin in Cereals.

The Cereals 2010 offer is limited to one rain gauge per assured grower.
