Handheld launches upgraded Algiz 10x ‘ultra-rugged’ tablet

The new version of the Algiz 10X has a 10.1in HD projective capacitive touchscreen that the company says is ultra-bright and built for outdoor use.

The 10-point touchscreen offers the ability to operate while wearing gloves or while it is raining, allowing outdoor users to use it in any weather, although the tablet also comes with a stylus for when things get a bit extreme.

The new u-blox NEO-M8N receiver offers both GPS and GLONASS, giving users access to more satellites than before.

This latest version of the Algiz 10X comes standard with the Enterprise LTSB version of Windows 10, it should be pretty quick as it uses a quad-core Intel N2930 1.83 GHz processor and an expandable 128GB solid-state drive.

It has 4GB of DDR3 RAM and offers more connection options than the average tablet, including WLAN and BT, USB, VGA and RS232 ports.

The Algiz 10X is IP65-rated and even meets MIL-STD-810G military standards for protection against dust, water, vibrations, drops and extreme temperatures.

It is relatively compact, weighing in at 1.3kg and 32mm thick. (2.9lbs and 1.2in for those working in old money)

Unfortunately, the new Algiz 10X pricing is unchanged, and the cheapest we can find it  for is just over £1,750.
