Here is something a bit different. It is a German-made Heko cultivator that uses big rings to cope with large quantities of straw.
It could be ideal for getting blackgrass to chit, says Sean Stanfield from Willow Farm Machinery, who plans to bring it into the UK.
It’s said to need only relatively modest hp – this 3m machine was being pulled by a Ford 7810 at a forward speed of 9-10kph – and is aimed at farmers grappling with dry conditions.

Three large, flat A shares with winged points are used up front, then two rows of large diameter ring cutters followed by a rear-knife packer to cut clods. This 3m model is expected to cost £10,750.
