Here is the new three-row potato planter from Cambridgeshire company Standen-Pearson.
The veg-and-root specialist’s new, trailed SP644-RT will plant three beds of potatoes in quad formation – four rows in a diamond pattern in each bed.
It gets an updated 4t, hydraulic-tipping hopper to make loading more gentle on the seed. The model also has four-wheel steering.
The company says it’ll manage up to 25 acres a day, with depth controlled individually on each bed. There is also the option of a purpose-built trailer for road transport.
The planter costs £77,000 and can be ordered now ready for the 2013 planting season.
