Vicon announced late last year its intention to break into the UK hedge and verge-trimmer market and LAMMA provided the first public outing for the new machines.
Designed specifically for the UK market by French company Lagarde (also part of the Kverneland group), the VRM 6560 is the largest in the range with a 6m reach and 1.6m head with 64hp motor. Key difference from the competition is the use of a piston pump, according to the firm. This is claimed to provide up to 30% more power than an equivalent gear-driven unit. Controls are proportional low pressure oil-over-oil. Priced at £18,500, the company has sold 20 already.
