LAMMA 2012: 9R offers more power than ever

John Deere 9R

Making its show debut on the John Deere stand was the new 9R series.

It offers a power range of between 410 and 560hp with power boost up to 616hp, and the four-model series comprises the most powerful tractors made by Deere.

Replacing the 9030 series first introduced in 2007, the 9R models have a six-cylinder, 13.5 litre PowerTech PSX engine, using EGR for emissions control.

The 40kph transmission has an 18×6 powershift box, which sets the best engine speed and transmission ratio combination for power and fuel efficiency.

Available in both articulated wheel and twin-track versions, the tractor comes with auto-steer and integrated JDLink telematics.

A steering/ancilliaries pump has been added to tracked models to increase the hydraulic flow available to implements. The cab is more spacious and lift capacity is now over 9t.
