Grain cart

A highly flexible but also tough radial tyre for harvesters, spreading vehicles, big trailers and grain chasers will be launched at Lamma by Mitas as the Czech manufacturer continues to expand its product range.

The new design is reckoned to be one of the biggest agricultural tyres produced – nominal width is 1.25m, it stands just over 2m in diameter, weighs more than half a tonne and contains 2.3cu m of air to support heavy loads.

The Mitas 1250/50 R32 SFT is part of the company’s Super Flexion Tyre range, which achieves a combination of large dimensions, heavy load capacity – up to 16t when limited to 10kph but also allowing relatively low inflation pressures for lesser loads – and a highly flexible sidewall and carcass construction that exploits this characteristics to put down a large contact area.

As a result, the new tyre can be used on harvesters, self-propelled lime and fertiliser spreading vehicles, and big trailers to minimise their impact on the soil.
