German construction specialist Liebherr was showing off its latest ag-spec loading shovel.

The updated L538 has been given a 4.5-litre Deere engine with a diesel particulate filter and exhaust gas recirculation to meet the latest round of emissions regs. This pumps out 156hp, which is transferred to the ground via a three-speed hydrostatic transmission.

There have been a few updates in the cab, too. The dash has been moved from the side console to the top of the cab and the front windows have been made deeper. Liebherr says this makes forward visibility much better.

Breakout force is rated at 87kN and the tipping load at 40deg of articulation is 8.3t. No prices are available yet.
