Pictures: Show us the highs and lows of your harvest

How’s harvest going for you? Is it the harvest from hell or are you in a region escaping the worst of the weather?

There are plenty of reports that things aren’t going well in areas like the Midlands and the West – although from the Harvest Highlights Picture Gallery you may not realise it.

So if you’ve got some pictures which show a wetter side to harvest make sure you add them or email them in.

People will appreciate knowing that there are other people in the same boat – so if you are suffering another difficult harvest let us know.

You can also add your comments on this forum thread about harvest.

Here are some of the pictures that have been submitted in recent days:

This picture does hint at the showers which continue to hamper progress in all types of crops across most of the country. Martin Smart, arable manager for P & J Awdry & Son of Trowbridge, Wilt’s sent in this shot which was taken on Sunday (2 Aug) at Wadswick, Nr Box, Wilts when both teams of combines were working on neighbouring farms and they moved them all on to a 35 ha block of Kalif rape to try and cut it before the rain came.

Farmers sons’ Henry and Simon Lamb of Knighton Manor Farm, Broadchalke, Salisbury tackle a crop of Golden Promise spring barley yielding about 2t/acre at 22% moisture. Dad told us “to keep going at any opportunity, due to the inclement weather”, they said.
