Precision Farming – greater GPS compatibility for Pear Technology and Farmade

Compatibility is still a big issue in the GPS sector, with data coming in from different makes of equipment not always usable in the farm’s mapping software.

But things are improving. Pear Technology says its latest software can import information from New Holland, Claas, Soyl, N-Sensor and Crop Circle nitrogen-sensing system and Veris soil analysis.

Farmade’s latest Gatekeeper mapping software is also better able to take GPS data from a variety of sources, says the company.

It says the rising cost of N fertiliser is driving interest in the whole mapping principle.
