Sima: Massey Ferguson 6600

The almost endless conveyor belt of new Beauvais-built machines means that MF’s entire tractor line-up has been spruced up since the last Sima show two years ago.

The new tractors, named the 6600 series, slot between the Brno-launched 7600s and EIMA-launched 5600s and promise to bring the power and comfort perks of a six-pot into the four cylinders.

There are five 6600 models, including what is claimed to be the world’s most powerful four cylinder – the 175hp 6616. The range starts from the 120hp 6612 and the motor of choice is a 4.9-litre unit from Agco Power.

As usual, transmission options include MF’s Dyna-4 on the smaller engine sizes, the Dyna-6 and the butter smooth Dyna-VT at the top end.
