You didn’t have to go far at LAMMA to spot a seed hopper on top of a cultivator or subsoiler.

The latest of these is Spaldings’ universal air seeder, which is designed to go on a Spaldings’ Flatlift subsoiler or the firm’s tined weeder, but it can fit any subsoiler, cultivator or grass harrow.

Spread width is 6m through eight outlets and it can switch between rape, peas, beans, cereals and grass by changing one of three feed roll cartridges.

An electronic control box records the area seeded and also means it can be calibrated from the cab. Hopper sizes are either 130 litres or 300 litres.
