Sporty Shogun due for spring 2018 release

The ever-popular Mitsubishi Shogun will be released to the UK in its new sporty clothes next spring.

Running from the 2.4-litre diesel engine offering 180hp, the transmission is provided by a brand-new eight-speed automatic box with the Super Select all-wheel drive system.

There are two new Sport models, both featuring leather interior, daytime running lights and key-less entry and starting, with the top spec option adding heated seats and Mitsubishi’s collision detection system.

On the standard sport models, you will also receive Hill Descent, Trailer Start Assist and Hill Start Assist, with a dedicated off-road mode to handle any type of terrain, the company says.

There’s the option to fold down the rear seats and get a boot space of 1,488 litres. However, if it’s more bums on seats you need, then a third row of pews is also possible.

Prices and spec options for the Shogun Sport haven’t been revealed yet.

The Sport won’t be the only new face from Mitsubishi next year, with the Eclipse Cross scheduled to arrive at showrooms in January.
