Techneat unveils 15m Avadex applicator

Techneat’s latest Avacast GR Avadex granular applicator can be fitted to a sprayer or drill and there is a trailed unit for ATVs and UTVs available, too.

Equipped with a 200- or 400-litre hopper, the GR400 spreader has apparently been designed with the frustratingly erratic spreading pattern of Avadex granules in mind.

Granules are applied via spreader plates mounted at 50cm spacings to reduce drift and ensure even coverage.

These granules are metered via an electronic GPS system that the company says is accurate and simple to calibrate.

The hopper is mounted at a low filling height, and it is also possible to apply small seeds and slug pellets using the broadcaster, making it suitable not only for larger farms but also contractors looking to offer extra services.

Techneat says there is also increasing interest in using the machine for improving the accuracy of slug pelleting.

The trailed GR400 model can also be coupled to Techneat’s Intelli-rate GPS field mapping service.

It can be fitted with either 12m- or 15m-boom options, needs a 450cc ATV or larger to pull it and costs from £11,658.
