THERE”S more to TIG welding than just splattering molten metal over a joint – it”s a precise science and requires some skill.

Herts-based welding product supplier Murex has produced a four-page guide to help users set up welders correctly and achieve a decent finish.

The booklet discusses both AC and DC TIG welding techniques and stresses the importance of selecting the correct type and size of electrode and nozzle. It also focuses on the importance of tungsten preparation, the selection of filling materials and setting the right electrical current.
