The Precision Farming Event produced a good crop of new GPS devices.
Topcon’s new X30 console, which made its UK debut at the event, has a 12.1in wide, 1024 x 768 resolution display and is Isobus compliant, which allows it to operate compatible implements.
The touchscreen isplay can show up to three mini-view windows, which can be dragged and dropped into position. It has a 1.6GHz Intel processor and provides simultaneous variable rate control of sprayers, drills and fertiliser spreaders for up to eight different products, with application maps loaded via one of four standard USB ports. It provides auto-switching for up to 32 boom sections.
The terminal has an integral lightbar for guidance, but will also run the Topcon AES-25 electric steering system or fully integral auto-steer. The screen will display a coverage map too. This, along with a wide range of other information, can be downloaded via a USB memory stick.
