Spray contractors who cover a range of different tramline and bed widths can now order Househam self-propelled machines with hydraulically-adjustable track-widths.
Developed in-house at the firm’s Lincolnshire base, the new axles can extend from 1.7m to 2m (68-80in) wheel centres.
The operator simply inputs the desired setting via the sprayer’s in-cab computer. The system then automatically alters axle widths once the machine gets moving, avoiding unnecessary stress on the driveline and chassis.
Although price is not yet finalised, expect to pay between £2000 and £3000 for the system.
