Vicon’s rake line-up for the 2014 season gains a fresh model that claims to solve the issue of overly lofty transport heights on wide-working machines.

The twin-rotor Andex 904C Hydro gives users hydraulic adjustment of its working width from 8-9m, creating a central swath measuring 1.2-2.2m in width.

This latest model has also been engineered to make high-capacity rakes simpler to transport, says the company. So the 904C Hydro gets a new axle design that allows the chassis to be lowered by 40cm.

That makes for a transport height of less than 4m and also means drivers don’t have to leave the cab to remove tines arms for transport. Lowering transport height also gives a lower centre of gravity that boosts overall stability.

The heavy-duty, maintenance-free ProLine gearbox and revised cam track design are also designed to give a more uniform swath. Cost is £26,865.
