VIDEO: First glimpse of Case IH’s JXU replacement

Case IH’s replacement for the popular JXU range of small, simple tractors made its first UK appearance at Lamma 2012.

The three-model Farmall U range offers 90hp, 100hp and 110hp options, each powered by a 3.4-litre, four-cylinder FPT engine.

Exhaust gas recirculation technology has been used to meet Tier 4 interim emissions regulations and low down power has been improved thanks to a system that boosts torque by up to 51%.

A new spacious cab has a flatter roof for ducking in and out of low doorways and a glass panel to improve visibility when using a loader at height. There is also space for a neat passenger seat which was lacking in the old JXU.

All Farmall U models are fitted with a 40kph 12 forward, 12 reverse powershuttle as standard, but buyers can opt for a 24F/24R two-stage powershift or 20F/20R powershuttle with creeper gears instead.

Engine oil changes are scheduled every 600 hours, which should make servicing less of a chore and it has a tight 4m turning circle.

The range should be available to buy this summer, but prices have not yet been announced.
