If you’re into farm machinery, Agritechnica 2015, is the place to be this week. Some 500,000 visitors will throng the vast halls of the Hannover exhibition from 12-16 November to view everything from small hydraulic or electrical components to sugar beet harvesters the length of a pair of double-decker buses.
It’s only when you look around a show like this that you realise how huge and successful the worldwide farm machinery sector has become.
As farmers are forced to expand to get the benefits of scale, this trend can only continue. Whether they can afford the massively expensive machinery costs in the future is a different matter.
