1400gns top call for Ulster Angus

BIDS hit 1400gns when Wilbert Lintons Ballygrangee herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle went under the hammer at Portadown, Northern Ireland.

Top call came from Co Down breeder Jim Scott who runs the Ardigon herd at Killyleagh. He claimed the two-year heifer Corch-oney Meteor by top sire Mushroom Friar Fergus and out of a cow by Percival of Windsole. She was suckling a September-born bull calf.

Netherton Favourite, a 1997-born heifer by a son of the Canadian bred Royal Stockman, realised 1300gns to Mr Anderson, Co Tyrone, while Ballygrangee Maureen, a daughter of Netherton Promising, led the maiden heifers at 880gns (Automart). &#42
