2000gns for Andy

COOPON Loyal Andy, a 16-month-old son of A Townson Lindy, carried off the male title and sold for the days top price of 2000gns at the Border Counties Holstein Friesian Breeders Club show and sale at Carlisle.

Consigned by Coopon Carse Farms, Newton Stewart, he was out of a 9000kg Sentry dam and was taken by Ardyne Farms, Dunoon, Argyll.

The 27 cows and heifers on offer averaged £1201 and reached 1650gns for Dick and Robert Butterfields freshly-calved Deri Donmack heifer Ingleview Eva 9th from their herd at Bentham, Lancaster. Classified GP83 as a two-year-old, she joined &#42 M Dents Jomat herd at Bolam, Darlington.

Another from the same home, the Mandingo-sired Ingelview Doreen 30th, was also claimed by Mr Dent, at 1600gns.

Willie Armours Moffat-based Annandale herd, no stranger to the limelight at this venue, produced Annandale Nureyev, a son of Brownfold Janro. Of 100% pure Friesian breeding and out of the herds popular Lucky Girl family, he joined Messrs Collisters herd at Maryport, Cumbria, at 1900gns. (Harrison and Hetherington.) &#42
