A SELF-EMPLOYED man from west Wales who repairs agricultural machinery has won more than £2m on the Lotto.

The BBC reports that Meredith Davies from Drefach, near Lampeter won £2,069,730 in the Oct 16 draw but was unaware until he checked his ticket a week later.

One of nine children Mr Davies intends to share some of his winnings with his family before buying a small-holding with his girlfriend.

“Now I‘m going to look after my family and make sure they have everything they want,” said Mr Davies.

Four years ago Mr Davies received a grant from the Prince‘s Trust that enabled him to set up his own business repairing tractors, combine harvesters and other agricultural machinery.

“It‘s a good little business and I will carry on working.

“But the win means I will be able to afford one or two luxuries in life.”
