401 sheep society

THE British INRA 401 Sheep Society has been formed by producers who imported the first sheep.

There are currently 40 ewes in the country. "The 401s qualities of having just two lambs in and out of season means the breed has a good future in this country," says society chairman John Freeman.

&#8226 Sarah Nicholass from The Barton Farm, Throwleigh, Devon, is the winner of the four pedigree 401 ewe lambs in the farmers weekly/INRA competition.

She will be presented with the ewe lambs on Tue, Nov 28, at FarmTech. Four runners-up will receive £250 vouchers redeemable against purchases in the INRA 401 show offer.
