A-A dispersal sees 1500gns

PRICES reached 1500gns when Attewell Estates dispersed their Ludlow herd of Aberdeen-Angus cattle at Bridgnorth, Shropshire, last weekend.

This Stourbridge, Worcester-based outfit saw the top bid come for the cow Nightingale Queen Lois. Bred by Willie Robertson, and sired by the Canadian bull MVF Classic, this four-year-old cow was offered with a heifer calf at foot by Woodside Earl. Buyer was P A Jones, Whitland.

Other prices of note were 1300gns from Howard Smith, Oxon, for a 1993-bred cow from the Dark Lane herd with a calf by the Woodside bull. And 1020gns was paid by A R M Smith, Ashbourne, for a Heath House cow by G V Buster with a heifer calf by Glen Islay Masterpiece. The same buyer also paid 1000gns for another Heath House bred cow and calf. (Nock Deighton with Harrison and Hetherington)
