A blooming good display

STAFFORDSHIRE FWC members met for lunch at the Little Barrow Hotel, Lichfield, before a flower demonstration by Jean Taylor (pictured above).

She made it all look so easy as the art of floristry was explained to us. In next to no time, a floral display was created. Cotoneaster, viburnum, red carnations and bronze chrysanthemums in a basket was a traditional arrangement. The next one using two figurines was more oriental looking, with orange lilies, hypericum and golden rod. A Continental arrangement was next on the agenda, which originated from visitors bringing flowers to a house and the hostess leaving a container by the front door to receive them.JH
