A farmers’ market in every town — NFU

FARMERS markets are set to secure a spot in every major town and city.

A survey by the National Farmers Union (NFU) has found that some 75 markets, either weekly or monthly, are now thriving.

It predicts there will be 200 operating by 2001.

The NFUs report, Back to the Future – Farmers Markets, found that nearly 90% of those questioned, who do not take part would sell at a farmers market if one were set up in their area.
