AAPSswitch flexibility

AAPSswitch flexibility

ONE-TO-ONE switches, which let producers swap equal areas of arable area payment scheme eligible and ineligible land, are to become more flexible after successful lobbying by the NFU.

Until now, farmers had to show they were switching for agronomic, environmental or plant health reasons. It was often extremely difficult for producers to qualify, says an NFU spokesman. Now, for example, growers who wish to replant perennial crops on clean land and import AAPS crops will be able to do so more easily, he adds. &#42
