Aboriginal land rights curbed
AUSTRALIA has passed legislation restricting the land rights of aborigines.
The new law reduces their rights to claim access to Government pastures leased to farmers.
But aboriginal leaders signalled they would mount legal challenges.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard called it “a wonderful outcome for all Australians”.
