A NEW adjuvant, said to be the first of its type on the UK market, has been launched by Herts-based Interagro.
Slippa is an organosilicone giving spray solutions an extremely low surface tension and a spreading power 25 times that of other additives, claims technical director Richard Newman.
"Standard adjuvants, for example oils and tallow amines, have a spreading power about five times that of water," he explains.
Two years of UK work have highlighted particular benefits with fungicides in controlling eyespot and stem-based mildew, he adds. Included as 0.1% of the spray water volume, Slippa cost is about £5/ha (£2/acre).
