AEA data show June tractor sales up 18%
LATEST tractor sales data released by the Agricultural Engineers Association reveal an 18% increase in June compared with June 1994.
Total sales of tractors over 40hp was put at 1343, which brings the year to date figure to 9527 – itself showing a modest increase of 7.7% over the same period last year.
Despite this upsurge in sales AEA economist Chris Evans still believes the total figure for the year will be within a shout of last years.
"All the indications are that tractor sales will remain very close to last years levels with perhaps a 2-3% increase. I would expect an end of year total of about 18,500 units," he predicts.
• Tractor power is on the increase. The AEAs June figures reveal that average horsepower rose from 94.9hp to 98.1hp. *
