Agriculture takes centre stage at DuPont

LIFE sciences – including agricultural products – will form the centrepiece of DuPonts future, president and chief executive Charles “Chad” Holliday announced.

The worlds largest chemical company has unveiled a massive reorganisation, grouping its array of chemicals and specialties businesses into three separate divisions.

Du Ponts shares jumped 7% on the New York Stock Exchange amid speculation that the announcement was a precursor to an eventual break-up of the company – a move which some shareholders have been advocating.
