Albert Fisher’s sauce for Unigate

ALBERT FISHER, the ailing food group, has sold its sauces business, Fisher Quality Foods, to Unigate for £43 million.

Despite the sale, Albert Fisher said there was no let-up in its trading difficulties.

The board is now reconsidering whether the chilled food division should remain on the disposal list.

Unigate described the acquisition as “an exciting business” which would be added to the companys fresh foods division.
