All Hawksmoor youngstock go

ONE of Shropshires best known dairy herds, Robert and Hilda Clares Hawksmoor herd, offered all its young cows and milking heifers last week.

Hawksmoor Rosemary 126th, the heaviest milking heifer to calve in the herd peaking at almost 50kg, made the top price at Market Drayton of 4300gns.

This Midnight daughter is bred from five generations of VG cows and went to Folkestone to join Jim Warnocks Capelleferne herd.

The Excellent classified cow Hawksmoor Tinkerbelle 2nd, by Jethro, made 3900gns. She had calved her third in January after topping 10,500kg with her second. She was one of four taken by D L Trott and Partners, Castle Cary, Somerset.
