Analysis on target

ACCURATE silage analysis is the first step to ensuring target performance and profit, especially when forage stocks are tight.

But to ensure the analysis can be interpreted to give good management information choose one system to use year after year and learn from it, advises Mark Harrison of Leics-based Farmlab.

Silage analysis results are accurate, but results from different labs will vary. However, he maintains that even though the results differ due to calibration they are correct.

The best way to use silage analysis results is by keeping information on the type of silage and feeding qualities, building up a diary to look back on. &#42
