…and FRAC advice ignored

ADVICE of the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee to keep strobilurin doses up to counter resistance appears to have been overlooked by growers, says BASF.

According to independent research commissioned by the company, average rates showed a slight decline in 1999 compared with 1998 (see table).

"The advice to use high rates has largely been ignored in the market place," says the firms Tony Grayburn. The low rate of azoxystrobin use reflects greater use as at T3, he adds.
